My name is Vuokko Pekkola and I'm a young woman living in the capital of Finland, Helsinki. I have always loved animals (especially cats) and my first purebred cat was a sorrel somali Ninna (Exlibris Carmina Burana) which joined our family in spring 1999, when I was 13 years old. Ninna had two litters of kittens, Exlibris E- and F-litters. Those kittens were born at our house and great thanks belongs to Ninna's breeder Anne Lemberg (Exlibris somalicats) who trusted taking care of Ninna and her kittens to me and my parents.
After starting my studies at the university I spent many years without cats at my home until summer 2011, when Ruusa (Divina Silvestris Ros) came to my life. She's one of the most beautiful abyssinians I have ever seen and I love her sweet and gentle temperament, but unfortunately she has food allergies and I decided not to use her for breeding because of that. Ruusa is spayed nowadays. In winter 2012, after a long waiting I got my other abyssinian female, Viola (Nebuankhet Ultraviolet) and she is my first breeding queen. Viola has very interesting pedigree and charming temperement and she's also a very pretty girl. Viola had her first litter in July 2014.
My goal is to breed healthy cats with good temperament. I try to reach this goal by not using any chronicly ill cats or very shy or aggressive cats to breeding. Genetic diversity is also an important thing to me. Breeding show winners is not my goal, I consider cat shows as social event and I don't take judges' opinions too seriously.
